JYODHA is a democratic, volunteer-driven youth movement working for the welfare and progress of Odisha and its people.
Inspired by the inclusive spirit of Jagannath culture, JYODHA seeks to provide a common platform where citizens can discuss issues, share ideas, advocate reforms, and participate constructively in public life.
JYODHA is independent, non-partisan, and committed to peaceful democratic engagement.

Our Principles
JYODHA is guided by a set of core principles that shape its decisions, activities, and democratic functioning.
Equality
Every member shall be treated equally regardless of caste, religion, gender, profession, or economic background.
Democracy
Every eligible Lifetime Volunteer shall possess one vote. Every vote shall carry equal value.
Transparency
Organizational activities and decisions shall be conducted openly and responsibly.
Accountability
Leaders shall remain accountable to the volunteers and the objectives of the movement.
Unity
JYODHA seeks to unite people beyond caste, religion, political affiliation, and social divisions.
Service
Public welfare and the interests of Odisha shall remain above personal interests.
Membership Eligibility
To maintain a committed and responsible volunteer network, applicants must satisfy the following eligibility criteria.
- Must be born in Odisha or be a permanent resident of Odisha.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak Odia.
- Must have passed Matriculation (Class 10) or equivalent.
- Must be between 16 and 55 years of age.
- Must support the objectives and principles of JYODHA.
- Must agree to follow the Constitution and Code of Conduct of JYODHA.
Membership Structure
JYODHA follows a structured membership system designed to encourage commitment, participation, leadership development, and democratic governance.
Probationary Volunteer
Duration: 6 Months
Every new applicant shall initially join as a Probationary Volunteer.
During this period volunteers are expected to:
- Learn the values and objectives of JYODHA
- Participate in activities and discussions
- Demonstrate commitment and discipline
- Build a positive participation record
Voting Rights:
No voting rights during probation.
Lifetime Volunteer
Upon successful completion of probation, a volunteer may apply for Lifetime Volunteer status.
Rights:
- One Vote
- Eligibility to contest elections
- Eligibility to hold office
- Eligibility to propose resolutions
- Participation in organizational decisions
Membership remains active up to the age of 55 years, subject to compliance with organizational rules.
Senior Advisory Board
Upon attaining the age of 55 years, active volunteers may transition to the Senior Advisory Board.
Responsibilities:
- Mentor younger volunteers
- Provide guidance and strategic advice
- Recommend corrective measures
- Preserve institutional knowledge
- Support organizational continuity
The Board shall advise while respecting democratic decisions taken by members.
Democratic Governance
JYODHA is founded on democratic participation, accountability, leadership rotation, and equal voting rights.
One Volunteer. One Vote.
Every eligible Lifetime Volunteer shall possess one vote.
No founder, office bearer, coordinator, donor, sponsor, or senior member shall possess additional voting power.
Every vote shall carry equal value.
Elections & Leadership
- Elections every 48 months
- Maximum two consecutive terms in the same office
- Maximum tenure of 8 consecutive years in one office
- Mandatory 12-month cooling-off period before re-contesting the same office
Leadership positions exist to serve the movement and its members.
Membership Fee: ₹0
No joining fee.
No registration fee.
No annual fee.
No renewal fee.
No member shall receive additional privileges because of financial contributions.

Every new applicant shall initially join as a Probationary Volunteer for a period of six months.

Why JYODHA Was Started?
JYODHA was established with the belief that Odisha’s greatest strength lies in its people.
The movement seeks to create a democratic platform where youth and citizens can raise issues, discuss solutions, and advocate for policies that improve education, healthcare, employment opportunities, livelihoods, and governance.
JYODHA believes that meaningful change is possible when informed citizens come together with a common purpose and work constructively for the welfare and progress of Odisha.
